COLEGIO de KIDAPAWAN (CDK) is the first college in Kidapawan to have dramatically metamorphosed into a competitive and standardized techno - educational foundation. Its concern and ability to respond to the immediate needs of the province and of its neighboring communities prompted the men behind it to push through its creation.

The establishment of CdK was the brainchild of some enterprising individuals from General Santos City, Davao City and Kidapawan City in 1986. Originally, ten persons brainstormed the possibility of its creation considering the educational needs of the community especially in terms of technology.

With the approval of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports and the National Telecommunications Commission, CDK began its venture, despite financial constraints.

COLEGIO de KIDAPAWAN became operational in 1986 with a few instructions, personnel and students. A building along Datu Ingkal Street was rented for its initial operations.

The Board of Trustees composed of six foresighted individuals was organized. The dedication, patience, hard work and strong desire of the pioneers to respond to the needs of the community in terms of technology education, became the driving forces in the establishment of the College.

After six years of continuous service, the college was able to acquire an area along Quezon Boulevard on the eastern part of Kidapawan where its campus is situated today.

The initial technical courses offered were: General Radio Communication Operator, General Midwifery Course, Associate in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Industrial Electricity, Radio Television Technician, Automotive and Diesel Mechanics.

Later on, the school ventured to offer four - year degree programs in BS in Nursing, BS in Civil Engineering, BS in Computer Engineering, BS in Computer Science, BS in Hotel and Restaurant Management, BS in Secondary Education, Bachelor in Elementary Education, Bachelor of Arts, Major in Mass Communication, BS in Criminology, and BS in Business Administration.

A good number of CDK graduates passed the board examination in General Radio Communications  Operator  and General Midwifery examinations. Hence, the college gained its prestige as an educational institution. The pioneer graduates in Nursing also passed the licensure examination in Nursing, thereby enhancing the reputation the school in the community.

After some years, a prominent family in Kidapawan City joined the college. With its new proprietors and growing faculty and enrollment, CDK will no doubt a long way in its educational endeavor.

Today, with its new Administration, CDK has established its firmly in the academe particularly in technology education. All degree courses are duly recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)  The college welcomes the millennium  - 2000 - with a strong desire towards progress, with a firm determination and with a brave heart. Equipped with these weapons, CDK hopes to be victorious in the filed of education. The future belongs only to the brave and the determined - and that is COLEGIO de KIDAPAWAN.
