The Colegio de Kidapawan, Inc. successfully held the 4th Institutional Elimination for the 30th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) on September 17, 2026, spearheaded by the Education Department, bringing together sharp-minded students from across the institution to test their statistical knowledge, numerical reasoning, and data literacy.
Participants represented four departments:
- Information Technology Department
- Hospitality Management Department
- Criminology Department
- Education Department
The competition highlighted how statistics serves as a vital tool in nation-building—guiding inclusive growth, strengthening resilience, and advancing sustainable development, particularly in the tourism sector. With this year’s theme, participants explored how reliable data shapes better policies, equitable opportunities, and a stronger future for communities across the Philippines.
After a challenging and closely contested battle of wits, the top achievers were announced as follows:
- 1st Place — Aliah Faye Abatay (Information Technology Department)
- 2nd Place — Kyle Andrew Balbutin (Hospitality Management Department)
- 3rd Place — Cheryl Anne Anoling (Information Technology Department)
The Information Technology Department delivered an outstanding performance, securing both the first and third spots, while the Hospitality Management Department claimed strong ground with second place.
This activity supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education by promoting excellence in learning and data literacy, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure through the development of analytical and evidence-based decision-making skills, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by strengthening collaboration between schools, government agencies, and national institutions for sustainable development.
