Prof. Marvie E. Martizano presented a research paper during the international webinar titled Next-Gen ELT: Collaborative, Inclusive and Tech-Enhanced Approaches for 21st Century Learners on December 5, 2025.
Martizano presented the study: Acceptability of Artificial Intelligence in Feedbacking Undergraduate Theses: Informing Policy. The research examined the acceptability of using artificial intelligence to provide feedback on undergraduate theses and offered insights that may guide the development of relevant institutional policies.
The presentation stressed the growing role of AI in higher education, particularly in supporting academic writing and research supervision. It also reinforced the importance of establishing responsible guidelines for integrating emerging technologies into the thesis-writing process.
The webinar was made possible through the research initiatives of the University of Southeastern Philippines in Obrero, Davao City. Conducted through Zoom, the international event brought together participants from the Philippines, China, Vietnam, Pakistan and India.
With its focus on collaborative, inclusive and technology-enhanced approaches, the webinar provided a platform for educators and researchers to exchange ideas on addressing the needs of 21st-century learners. Martizano’s presentation contributed to the discussion by exploring how AI-assisted feedback could support undergraduate research while informing sound and responsible educational policy.
